BIG BRO Support Benefits

Choosing BIG BRO over a traditional Care Worker offers a more relatable peer-based connection that focuses on social integration and shared activities rather than clinical supervision and domestic tasks.

The approach as a "Big Brother" while retaining a professional relationship feels less like a formal service and more like a genuine mentorship, making it ideal for building confidence, navigating the community and developing life skills through authentic engagement.

Peer-to-peer engagement encourages younger participants who often respond better to someone they view as a mentor rather than a formal caregiver, this also helps reduce the stigma of "being cared for"

Shared interests create a foundation to assist break down barriers, drive motivation and participation.

Dynamic role modelling accelerates social development, improves cognitive flexibility and promotes emotional literacy and self-efficacy.
